See, these are ALL much better answers than trying to change a system procedure. Here's another "insane" one: Write you own SSMS Add-in that modifies it's behavior to call your procs instead of the system ones.
And I promise you, as crazy or hard as any of these may seem, that are a darn sight easier than trying to modify one of the system procedures.
