  • You can automate backups a couple of ways. 1 way is to right click the Database and select Backup Database and then schedule it from there.

What do you mean when a backup file is created, it must not replace the old one?

    Kindest Regards,

  • U can automate the backup using the maintenance plan wizard in which u can schedule at what interval a backup has to be taken. The backup files wont be overwritten or replaced. There is an option for automatically deleting older files which u can set when u r running out of disk space.

To take maintenace plan right click the database and select maintenance plan from the pop up menu.

    Hope this helps u.
