Import SQL 2000 DB into SQL 2005

  Question from someone new to 2005. I have a Full backup from SQL 2000 (v. 8). How can I bring that over to the new server with SQL 2005 and easily import the DB? I tried several methods already. I tried exporting the 2000 DB into Access and then importing into 2005. Thanks in advance (desperate to get things up and running -- great forum site, by the way!).

  you should copy the backup files to new server. Now, try restoring it on the new databases. see if that works.

  Just backup the database from the 2000 server and restore the backup file in sql server 2005. this should be doing fine for your requirement.
