Importing from Excel sheet data failed

    Hi All,

    I am importing Active Directory data from Excel sheet(MS office 2007) in to new SQL 2000 table. Initially the excel data was converted from Active Directory CSV file format.

    While I was importing it was failing with the error "Too many fields defined", but in SQL profiler I can see the error number

    Error: 208, Severity: 16, State: 1

    without more information.

    I checked in books online SQL 2000 can support until 1024 columns in the base table.

    Any idea why this was happening...

    sorry to mention, the import is successfully creating new table with all the columns but no data was being imported..
