Linked Server Error

    Msg 7303, Level 16, State 1, Line 1

    Could not initialize OLE DB ...

    Please see if I have forgotten anything to set-up

    I check Allow Inprocess in Provider Options

    TNSNames and SQLnet connection are ok..

    I am able to connect and disc thru SQLplus..

    by the way i am using Oracle 9i client

    Do i need to set-up registry in the server??

    and how???

    I am also establishing a linked server, running into some problems. You may need to change the registry entires for 9i, similar to what I did for 10g.

    I've had issues with this due to permissions on the folder containing the Oracle Home files. Quick test is to open up the permissions to everyone full (I know ,I Know) and try to link and query. If it works you can then tighten security on that folder.
