Linked server problem with excel sheet

    Hai guys

    I am trying to create a linked server for an excel sheet,but the following error occurs

    cannot initialize data source object of eledb provider microsoft.ace.oledb 12.0 for linked server

    what may be the reason ??

    for this excel sheet no need to map any login rt.as it is in the same systm

    pls help

    What kind of Excel document are you trying to access. Is it a Excel 2003 or 2007.

    Can you post the code with wich you created the linked server.

    You should use

    Provider : Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0

    Provider String : excel 8.0

    the problem has been solved.but the linked server created in one login canot seen on another login.why this is hapening
