Log Shipping "latency" - can we do it every 12 hours?

    Hi all:

    Implementing Log Shipping, since we have international sites, can we set up the ships of the logs only at night?, therefore every 18 to 24 hours?

    Or is there a maximum of minutes or hours?

    The band width does not help to do it during the day, because of on line traffic transactions.

    Advice appreciated.

    It has been a while since I've setup log shipping, but yes, you should be able to delay either the log shipping copy jobs, or the log shipping restore jobs, as suits your needs.

    Here it sounds like you're wanting to delay the shipping job, and you should be fine, as long as your log shipping timeouts are longer than the time needed to ship and restore the files to the destination server.
