  What (if any) procedure exists to install SQL Server Management Studio onto a client without installing other utilities from the installion CD?   I’m unable to locate an option during a client install for only the  Management Studio. Thanks to eveyone for being there to help.

  Microsoft does not allow it because Express Advanced comes with it free and the developer edition is only $50 list less than $40 retails.

  You can choose to install management tools when you install the server. There is a option available.
