Multiple Instance Scenario

    I need to know if this is possible: I have server Stage01 and it has two ip adresses. It has a default SQL instance onaddress 10.10.10.1. I need to either install a named instance on 10.10.10.2 OR bind the secon instance to that ip address. Am I out of luck?

    In a clustered environment, where you can create multiple virtual nodes each with a different IP_address this is possible. Otherwise both instances have the same IP address but a different port.

    Maybe you could tweak something using two NIC's, but I have to admit I wouldn't know hwow.
