Named subscription and Anonymous Subscription

    Hi ,

    i am going to implement pull subscription for my replication model but not getting sufficient difference info between named and anonymous subscription  and which one is better like any security contraint for anonymous .

    a named subscription requires that you know the server name o the subscriber that will subscribe..

    an anonymous subscription is when you dont know the name of the subscriber , eg a pocketpc, or internet replication solution..

    i believe this is the correct (real world) answer you are looking for

    Thanks Adam , but the issue i am getting for anonymous subscriber is when ever i am running snapshot agent it is taking full sync with out reinitialize also ,is it expected or i can change that behaviour?

    also some time i see publisher properties for

    subscription option

    i see this sometimes all the check box are checked

    like 'use distribution agent which is independent of other publications.....'

    but sometime only 'allow anonymous pull subscription' is enabled

    is the above is related to any agents running during that time?
