    I request you to let me know the steps involved to export the data from sql server data base to spread sheet and general flat files.

    Have you tried reading about this in Books Online under the section on SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)? That would be a very good place to start your research.

    You may also use bcp, OPENQUERY, OPENROWSET, along with SSIS. There are a ton of ways to dump data out of a table into a flat file / excel.
