NO LOCK vs FOR BROWSE

    Hello All,

    Someone asked me today about FOR BROWSE and I got stumped.

    I use in most of the cases NO LOCK hint for Select queries and never heard about FOR BROWSE before.

    I checked BOL and MS site ( below link) and still wondering if anyone use it (FOR BROWSE) in real life for ASP/SQL Server application.

    Never used it in real life, but your link & BOL both explain this is to support scrollable client cursor in dblib apps.  I doubt you're using dblib for ASP/SQL app, I haven't heard of anyone using dblib for long time.
