not able to connect remote named instance in sqlserver 2005

  Hi i have installed sqlserver 2000 exp edition (default instance )and sqlserver 2005 dev edition as(named instance) in same windows box

  when i tried to connect remote named instance from my server iam getting the following errors

  1) provider: SQL NetworkInterface,error:26-server doesnot support requested protocol

  2)provider: SQL NetworkInterface,error:28-server doesnot support requested protocol

  provider: SQL NetworkInterface,error:40-server doesnot support requested protocol

  note --some time can able to connect some time not

  from past so many days i searched in google almost all i tried still iam facing the problem (not able to conncet remote named instance)

  pls respond exparts

  enablle named pipes and TCP/IP at server and check if you are able to connect..

  check errorlog and app log to get more details
