  • Happens in the UK too! Some parents seem to expect their kid to turn into the next David Beckham or Zinedine Zidane!

In my case, it would be more accurate to say that I am Political Correctness' Pet Peeve!

Oh, that. I used to star in the occasional Hollywood blockbuster until I discovered the true joys of writing SQL and working lots of overtime.

  • I was reminded last night at the Safeway grocery store about a major pet peeve of mine. Grocery store discount club cards.

    To grocery store:

What I don't want is to give you my personal information so you can track my demographics when I purchase milk, spaghetti and deodorant. What I don't want is to carry your little plastic card in my wallet or on my key chain. What I don't want is giving my phone number to the checker of the week cause I don't carry my card. What I don't want is the checker giving me a sanctimonious speech on how I just saved $1.98 by being a club member.

What I do want is for you to give your so called "low prices" to everyone and drop the club card.

Thas one of the reasons I avoided Safeway but now Alberstons has the card to.

    What do I do now?
