    Yes, understanding the nuances for RDMS security models can be difficult. Really, most DBAs don't know as much as we should. Everything from contained users, ownership chaining, nested domain groups, etc.

    There is such a high expectation of the DBAs in a heterogenous database environment which now entails NOSQL.  At best, they a jack of all databases and probably a master of one.  It is a daunting job these days.
