Printing in Query Analyzer

    OK, let's face it, the current functionality is abysmal.

    I would like to see:

    • Optional line numbers
    • Decent header and footer, preferably customizable
    • Ideally a marker (little arrow) to show which lines are wrapped, though not essential.
    • Printing of the colour coding or putting keywords in bold for laser printers.

    I've told Microsoft this, but that's not going to help me now!

    Does anyone use any third party tools to print or even in place of QA permanently?  I've had a look round download sites etc. and can't find anything reasonable.

    I think your going to have to wait on Microsoft.  A free third party tool that makes working with queries easier, to me, and has much of the functionality of Enterprise Manager is at http://www.toad.com.

    Nothing to help with your printing question though.

    Although only a text editor, you could consider using TextPad - it allows you to use a syntax file to markup the text in the same colours as QA, and then prints them in colour.
