in a single instance(2-node) active/pasive 2000 cluster, when Node 1 fails over to Node 2 for ex., Node 2 has to go through the automatic recovery of each database. Is there a way to monitor the progress of this?
Perhaps SQL Profiler would allow you to see what steps are being performed and monitor it at that level. It wouldn't give you a percent complete or anything like that but you would at least know which database is being restored.
Remember this when a developer tells you it will just be temporary. Temporary = Permanent.
