Relating job operators to Database mail profile

  • Hi

I wanted to know if there was a way to relate an operator for job notification to a database profile instead. Basically I have a large SQL farm environment with serveral dozen jobs relating to different applications and support teams. In SQL 2000, I have a script to check the status of the job in the history table. if the job failed, any email would be sent.

Is there an easier way in 2005 to associate a job failure notification with a particular DBmail profile?

  • You can create the various Operators in SQL 2005 and assign the specific job to send mail to related operator when the job fails.

  • The problem with creating operators in SQL 2005 is that the operators are always tied to the default DB mail profile. I wanted to associate each operator with a particular mail profile.
