Replicating Tables on Different Publications / Schedules

    Hi,

    Is it possible to replicate tables on different schedules or publications? I have a replicated database that is replicating every 15 mins (transactional replication) however I am having issues with purge jobs that are failing because when attempting to purge data from some of my tables those tables are locked by replication. I have two questions...

    1) Can I replicate say between 6:00 AM thru Midnight (15 mins interval) and allow those purge jobs to run btw 1:00AM thru 5:00 AM (I'm concern about performance replicating the data change in this purge maintenance window)

    2) Can I just move the few tables that need purging to a seperate replication publication?

    When using replication, I often found it useful to set up a test publisher & subscriber database to try out different things before going to production.
