Replication or Linkes Server Objects or SSIS?

    We are planing to install a SQL Server for reporting purposes. This server will hadle

    reporting for multiple databases. The question is what is a better design option;

    1.replication of data from the other databases to the Reporting Server?

    2. Create Linked server objects poiting to the other database, in the Reporting Server.

    3. Use SSIS.

    I would say linked servers is out, I can almost guarantee performance issues.

    I like log shipping, SSIS, and replication. How many databases? How many tables? How current does the data need to be? What edition of SQL will the report server be backed by?
