report print layout fine but normal layout ko

  • In the normal view layout, my form report is unproperly formatted. When I change to Print layout, it is properly formatted.

I want my view layout to be the same as the print layout.

Normal layout view (or ko layout)

    Page layout view (ok layout)

I've tweaked the layout properties, with width 7.5in like for an A4 sheet of paper but to no avail

If you have any ideas , they are more than welcomed as I'm losing sanity.

    Thanks.

  • I guess I don't understand why you think they'd be the same to begin with. If they were the same, then they wouldn't need one or the other. IMHO, I've never understood why MS bothers with a "normal" view even in Word except maybe for some type of troubleshooting that can't be done in the "Print" view.

  • Hi Jeff,

Thanks but do you have more meaty insights by any chance? 🙂

    Best,

  • Hi Andy, I'm not entirely sure I understand the problem but for exporting reports, the Size of the (report) Body has to be smaller (fit within) the PageSize minus the Margins, or you'll get odd behaviour like this

Or have I totally missed the point? 🙂

  • Hi Dave,

I read about that but I have no idea where to find the report body size

Please find my screen capture below

    Thanks

  • So you have the white space which you place items on, that is the Body element, the empty space around the Body element is the report.

Easiest way to access these elements is clicking the drop down at the top of the properties window

Unfortunately, no. The two views of reports were designed to provide different functionality and don't display the same because of that.

  • Dave,

I was able to find the body report.

However, your solution did not do help to resolve my issue.

I'm rebuilding my report from scratch.

    Many thanks,

    Andy

  • Can you show me where you're switching between these views?
