Hi,
I am new to Reporting Services,as i usually use Business Objects.
I have a dimension table that has RECORD_START and RECORD_END date fields this is so that reports can show historical detail of a given property (house).
I join that to a fact table that shows charges in it that joins to the dimension using the natural key property ID. This is because it is effectivlly a many-to-many join between the fact and the dimension.
In a Business Objects universe, to resolve this many-to-many I would join using the natural key, and then use a prompt to ask for a snapshot date from the user prior to the report being generated.
Is there a way to create a prompt within the join conditions in the reporting model? Or can I only achieve this at report creation?
Any help much appreciated.
