Run DTS packages from SQL Server 2008 R2

    We're working on a new system to replace one of our aging SQL 2000 systems, but mid-development we'll be getting a new server running SQL Server 2008 R2 and I'd like to look at options to move our current SQL Server 2000 system to the new server, running in SQL 2000 compatibility mode, until we're ready to move to the new system. This older system also has a number of DTS packages, so can those run in SQL 2008 R2? I know DTS, ActiveX, etc are deprecated, but I just need something to run the system for a few months as we finish-up the new version of the application.

    I just found this on Microsoft's site - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb500440.aspx - which I didn't see when searching before posting my question. So with this does anyone know of any caveats with running DTS on SQL 2008 R2 from their experience? Anything to look out for?
