  With SQL Server 2005 Database Mail, is there a way to send email securely? i.e. apply PGP encryption or some such?

  I'm just in the planning stages of a project here, so I'm looking for possibilities before I dig in with any assumptions already made.

  You can use SSL assuming your smtp relay supports it.

  I would be tempted to use clr and an external smtp server
