    In that case what the previous caller says is right. One thing that strikes me is to do a check everyday for the integrity of your datastrucutre and mail to you if anything has changed so that you can track what has changed and then fire the customer.

    You are using SQL 2005 and its easy to use email functionality there with the new DBMAIL feature thats available with it. All you neeed to know is your smtp server name or the IP address. There are many documents/links that are available in the net for DBMAil.

    Thanks, but am using SQL Server 2000 at present.

    Learning new technologies as I go along.

    I do not want to rush things, rather to learn on a need-to-know basis, so I'll familiarise myself with DBMail now but do not know if I will implement it anytime soon.

    Issue resolved.

    You have posted in SQL 2005 forums thats why i said to use DB Mail feature. If 2000 you can get a procedure in this site the uses CDO messaging to send mails as said earlier that too will require only the SMTP server name.
