Hi all,
I recently applied sp2 to our dev environment. The dev server has 3 instances of SQL2K5. From everything I have read, you should be able to apply the service pack to just a single instance, but in our case it applied it to all instances on the server. anyone else encounter this?
I've tried to read the sqlhotfix.cfm that comes with the sp, however when I open it up it's blank. Probably user error when extracting it, but frustrating nonetheless.

May be you guys have missed the screen...I have not seen any question like this in the forums...

thats weird.
Can you please share the log files with me? They should be in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG folder.
Please report it to Microsoft.

As it turns out, I had another DBA come along right after I applied sp2 to one of the named instances and apply it to all the other instances on the box, so my panic was for naught. Thank goodness!
