Here, the DBA's have full access to the backup directory of the production sql box in order to move db from production to development and vice versa (backup/restore). No local admin rights on the srv.
Thanks for that information; we have a mix of 2000 and 2003 servers and this means I can lock some of them down tightly and use the local policies to open up the required functionality.
