Can anyone give me the detailed document / information which tells what all i need to do before, during and after migration of SQL server 2000 to SQL server 2005. Any tool as well whicih tells what all i need to do

My first suggestion is for you to review the information above then post any specific questions you might have.

Precisely, I am looking for concise information. Say few main steps / things I should keep in mind for database migration. Log shipping, security, system table modification, datatype change / modification etc.
I intend to only migrate existing SQL server 2000 database to SQL 2005. So apart from say for ex resorting the existing 2000 db backup file, what all I need to do.
Do you still suggest, I should read entire stuff.

Yes I do. I think you'll be less likely to have steps missed by reading well-organized and thought out articles than by having someone list the steps off the top of their head in the forum.

You really need to dig through articles on the subject and then perhaps look for posts where people have had issues.
It's straightforward, but likely you also want to practice, and document what you do and what is missing, adding steps to your documents as you go.
