SQL 2005 Privileges

  • I converted an application from SQL Server 7.0 to 2K5 by copying a back up of the 7.0 server to my new hardware and restoring it to the new software. In 7.0 my business partners (i.e., users) could see objects created by others even if they did not have SELECT privileges. They still see the same things in the 2K5 when they use MS Access but not when they use AQT (Advanced Query Tool - a great SQL Editor).

Any help in identifying what I am missing would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

  • If the users are not DBOs or don't have the access to the objects they don't see them because in sql server 2005 security is locked down very tight...

If you want to you grant them the access to see the objects...
