SQL 2008 Server - Installing BIDS and BOL for developers.

    I need our developers to test on SQL 2008. They need SSMS. Does anyone know how to only extract the BID and BOL and a few others that are NOT Server/Service installs? The only way at this point is to give them the entire SQL 2008 Ent media and I really don't want to do that. It's a CYA thing for me.

    Best thing you could do then is do the install for them. That way you know you are installing only the client tools.

    Aren't the Tools (which includes the SSMS) in a different folder on the media than the SQL Engine install folder?

    I posed this question to our Microsoft TAM and I am still waitng for a reply.

    My days of reverse engineering an install to hack only the parts I want are done.....lol

    I'll post what MS sends me ASAP, if/when I get it of course.
