SQL 2K/2K5 Server Discovery Tool

  • Can anyone recommend any sql server discovery tools that will search on an imported list of subnets as opposed to individual ip's?  I found SQLRecon which is great but doesn't allow you to search the entire ip range.

Because we have so many subnets it would be easier for me to import the .txt file list directly into a discovery tool.

I'm aiming to get a definitive list of all SQL servers on our network.

  • Mark,

    try SQLPing http://www.sqlsecurity.com/Tools/FreeTools/tabid/65/Default.aspx

Though there's no option of importing a list of subnets, you can define a range of IP addresses.
