sql jobs

    Hi,

    I have a job set up and this the sequence;

    Step 1) Kill users

    Step 2) DBCC & Update stats

    Step 3) backup the db

    Step 4) backp the log

     

    This has been running successfully however since couple of days this is failing repeatedly at the third step with an error

    “ConnectionRead (WrapperRead()). [SQLSTATE 01000] (Message 258)  General network error. Check your network documentation. [SQLSTATE 08S01] (Error 11)  10 percent backed up. [SQLSTATE 01000] (Message 3211).  The step failed.”

     

    If I run the same back up job from the query analyzer the back up runs successfully, can anyone please tell me why is this happening

    any comments/suggestion greatly appreciated

    I do have the same problem once. I delete the job and create new jobs and it works file. To my understanding this is a connectivity issue. Check your job history and change the job run timing.
