Hi SiteOwners,
the ad on the left stays on top, if you use the menu bar. And although you are able to select a menu entry, if the mouse is over the ad, this link will open. Try Resources->Discussion Boards.

It's because banner manager pro is using an IFRAME element to display the ad in your browser; since IFRAME is a windowed element, and the menu is not (it's implemented using either div or span tags...), the menu will always go below the IFRAME. The same would happen if there was a dropdown box in the same space as the advertisement is now. I don't know if Dynamic Drive have an updated version of the menuing system the site is using that can handle this behavior - might be worth checking out. Or, it might be worth asking banner manager pro if they have an implementation that uses non-windowed elements to format the ad block...

Woh, I didn't know that there is a software for this!
A quick look on their site proofs that this is a software I won't buy for my semi-private site coming up soon. Is there a similar software for free (working with php and MySQL)?

There are a number of banner management solutions out there, both open source and private party. I'm not saying that the one they chose for the site isn't good; just that it's worth looking at its documentation regarding implementing in a non-windowed control...remember, it's the client-side implementation of the server software that's behaving badly, not necessarily the server-side code...for all I know, the banner server is great...
