SQL Server 2005 - anything similar to Oracle AWR Report?

    Hi Guys,

    With Oracle Automatic Workload Repository feature, we can see the top few resource intensive SQL statements for the past 14 days.

    Let's say today, i observe a long running sql statement between 10am to 11am. I not sure how this statement behave 6 days ago, whether the behaviour is normal.

    I can generate a snapshot of the top sql statements happening between 10am to 11am 6 days ago to see this particular sql behaviour.

    Any feature similar in SQL server 2005? Or the only option is to turn on profiler 24x7?

    You could use Server-side Trace (i.e. an unattended Profiler session, do not use Profiler for this), or a third-party tool like RedGate SQL Monitor that has query performance monitoring functionality.
