SQL Server 2005 Express and partitions

    We've just installed Express on a server which is also running 2000 MSDE. With MSDE xp_fixeddrives returns all 3 NTFS partitions ie C:, D:, E: but with Express, only C: and E: are visible. Murphy's Law of course - D: is the main shared drive for all users. Any ideas on what could possibly be wrong.

    I think I've solved it but I'm not sure why so if anyone can enlighten me. I changed the startup login to Local Server instead of Network Service and I could suddenly see the missing drive. Haven't rigorously tested it yet as it was midnight by then!
