Step 1: Get a QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL to help you and your company. To do ANYTHING else is setting yourself up for a world of pain and loss. Sorry, but there are just soooOOOOO many things to miss, not know about, misconfigure, waste money on, etc, etc, etc.
There are no other steps in this plan, and no other plan is viable. 🙂
Now, if you want to LEARN some good stuff about SQL Server HA, I highly recommend the book(s) written on the subject by Allan Hirt. I believe he is updating his work for SQL 2012 - not sure if it is out yet. But if you digest that book, some other books, some blog posts and some forum threads you STILL shouldn't attempt to do HA for your company without assistance, at least your first time (and probably second and third times too if you move on to other companies).
