SQL Server Mirror Endpoints

    do the end points have to have the same port number as the sql service?

    i noticed today that we have a broken mirror. both instances are using dynamic ports.

    the endpoints on both sides do not have matching port numbers.

    The database mirroring endpoints should not be the same as the port(s) used by SQL Server.
