SQL Server Page Size

  • Hi Guys and Gals

    We are experimenting in upgrading our Sybase version from 8 to 10.

    Playing with Sybase Central on unloading and reloading databases.

    With this we found that we could decrease and increase the page size from the current 4K which our Sybase servers operate.

    There where choices for 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32k page files.

    I was just wondering if there was a way in SQL to de/increase the page size from 8k.

    As SQL and Sybase are both competitors and the newer versions of Sybase are ever becoming more like SQL we are wondering if the tools are there in SQL.

    Thanks

    Competitors? Did you know SQL Server 4.2 was actually Sybase?... the actual source code?

  • Yes I was aware that MS purchased 4.2 off Sybase and rebranded as SQL

  • Anthony,

    I've just noticed this topic and it might be helpfull to you;

    http://qa.sqlservercentral.com/articles/Development/2862/

    BTW the page-sizes are adjustable ONLY by installing SQL server.

    Once you installed SQL server it's permananent.
