SSIS Converting text to scientific notation

    I have created a SSIS package to import data from an Excel spread sheet. I have added IMEX=1 to the connection string of the excel source to bring in all data as text. However, the package still converts the field from time to time into scientific notation. Does anyone know how to resolve this? Thanks.

    hi I am curious to know that what is IMEX i jus want ot know that and where can i set that to one i couldnt find it in properties..plz let me know

    It is a property on the connection string for the excel source. Unfortunately, there is not a box to set it. you have to add it directly to the connection string. It tells SSIS to ignore data type and bring everything in as text.

    but i couldnt understand where should i add it to the connection string could u provide me an exapmle of one of urs file with that imex plzzz...thkz for ur response

    is this only for excel or any source i mean flat file also...

    I think you should use Data Conversion transformation
