Hi Phil, thanks for getting back.
There is no datbase on the other side, I just wanted to transfer the database along with everything into the 2008 instance (hence setting the model database to 90), do you think it would work better if I created an empty database on the 2008 instance and then set it 90?

That won't make your problem go away.
This sounds like a job for backup/restore to me 🙂
If you haven't even tried to resolve your issue, please don't expect the hard-working volunteers here to waste their time providing links to answers which you could easily have found yourself.

Thing is I hve tried that and it misses too much stuff. Its so annoying that the Transfer objects task is what I need, but does not work properly.

I'm sorry, I don't know what else to suggest.
This link suggests that what you are trying to do should work just fine.

I am aware this is an old post but thought I'd share my findings.
Each database does appear to need the same compatibility level. If you go to both databases using SSMS then goto properties of each database and then select options if you check that both compatibility levels are the same Then the "Transfer Objects Task" module in SSIS will work.
This has worked for me and has not appeared to have any knock on effects to anything else.

Set the destination to compatibility to 100 and it will work
