SSIS - Uppercase excel

    Hi

    I am using visual studio to write an ssis package Visual studio 2010

    it imports and excel sheet of data into a sql server 2012 - to an insisting table (CateringMain) in the sever database

    works great

    however I have a ID (mixture of letters and numbers) column...

    the ID column in the sever table is uppercase...

    the ID column in the excel sheet is lowercase.

    so when I import I have duplicate rows of some IDs

    can the ID column be converted to uppercase please from the excel sheet ... this be done in the data conversion editor when you change the data type to string?

    I am new to ssis

    how can I help resolve this please

    Use a Derived Column Transformation in your dataflow, use UPPER as part of your expression and replace the column instead of adding a new one.
