    Any help would be appriciated.

    Thanks a lot,

  • Hi,

Did you make any changes in the server. Did you check the event viewer for any errors.

  • Thanks for the reply Chandra,

  • I have a similar issue here (SQL 2005, standard SP3 32 bit on windows 2003).

Next time it happens open up task manager. Add the columns (view menu) so that you see the sames columns as in attachement.

I personally sort by Mem usage desc.

What happens is that sqlWb will start working its *** off (no idea on what). As you see in my screenshot, the process uses 60 mb at idle and goes up to 1 GB when working. For me it jumps by ± 5 MB / sec. So the route from 60 MB to 1000 MB takes some time.

I never had it fixed (domain admin doesn't have time) but here's the supposed fix (most popular solution online AFAIK).

  • Hello All ,

    Thanks for your input.

    Actions i have taken.

    1. Re-installed complete sql server 2008. -- Issue didn't resolved.

( I carried out restart of pc , between uninstall and re-install.)

But suddenly , SSMS started working . I am not sure why it behaved so. but issue resolved.

    Thanks a lot,

Did you check the task manager for sqlwb? If not, reinstalling won't change a thing (assuming it was your problem).
