ssrs 2016 can I use previously built data sources and datasets?

    I want to be able to create data sets on my works station using SSDT 2015 and have other report writers access and use the data sources that i have published to the SSRS server. However it looks like there is no way in SSDT 2015 to access these resources on the SSRS ? Is that true how do the other report writers access them in SSDT

    I try to go to the ssrs server http://sql2016demo.company.com/reportserver to access the shared data datasources and datasets

    Hi Rob,

    SSDT works with a project model and does not maintain an active link to the report server. This means all the objects, dataset etc have to be stored offline in the project and are deployed to the server

    Microsoft Report Builder can maintain an active connection to the report server and the allows the developer to use data sources and data sets that are deployed on the server. You can also open and save definitions directly against the report server.
