OK, sorry to be so thick. When I test for IsMSShipped = 1, the "missing" stored procedure DOES show up, along with a whole slew of system stored procedures I don't want. So, the question is why is a user-defined object being flagged as something created during the installation of SQL Server. Perhaps it's another "undocumented feature."

What are the odds that someone there knows about the undocumented sp_MS_marksystemobject stored procedure? If good, then that might be your problem.

It sets that property in 2000 (if my ancient brain cells are remembering correctly). It can also be set in other ways, but that is still a moderately well-known undocumented proc.
