Technical Interview Questions - Please Help

  • Dear Friends,

    I would like to submit few questions regarding MS SQL

    DBA technical interview.  Some of you may be in this

    field or you may have friends in this track. I wish to

    know the practical senarios about the following.

    I've confused with few questions. Please help me to

    clear.

    1. When you creating a DATABASE,  What are the

    parameters for recovery/restore data from backup.?

    2. What are the daily activities of a typical DBA?.

    3. Which is the best time to run DBCC command? (Peak

    time/less transaction time)

    4. What will happen when you execute UPDATE

    STATISTICS?

    5. How many INSTANCES can be open simultaneouly in a

    MS SQL SERVER?

    6. Explain about Repository

    7. How to troubleshoot when the server is running, but

    the client is not able to connect/login with SErver.

    8. Backup and Recovery Real Time senarios?

            When will you do backup? (Realy i confused on

    this question) Interviewer asked me depends on the

    Database condition how will you do it. (some what the

    DB is in ready status, or is there any other status

    there??????)

            While doing recovery mode, where will you

    start, tell step by step?

            If the MASTER system db itself corrupted, how

    will you restore the database?

    9. How do you load data from a remote server? Which is

    not connected with your network?

    10. As a DBA what are the advices to the developers

    about LOCK?

    My dear friends pls share you experience with me,

    which will help me more.
