Test E-Mail works, but not a real one

    I configured SQL Mail in SQL 2005, and can send a test mail, and it arrives nicely in my in-box. but when I run a job, and expect to get an email upon completion, nothing happens.

    I can run sp_send_dbmail  from a query window, but it requires @profile_name - although BOL says it will use the default profile if I leave it blank.

    What am I missing ?

    Did you confguration sql agent mail?

    You need to enable mail profile in sql agent properties...

    That was it !   I had everything else setup, didn't realize I had to enable it as well ....  then restarted SQL Server Agent.
