    Can I add an index to a table in the Subscriber database where the index does not exist in the Publisher?

    yes, you can.

    However, bear in mind that, whenever replication re-snapshot takes place, all manually added indexes will disappear.

    You can add a post snapshot script to re-add the indexes in the event of reinitialising the subscriber.

    Re-snapshoting on its own does not drop all objects. For example, you can add a new article to a subscription, generate a snapshot and only the new article will be generated.

    That is a great help, it solves what could have been a big issue in a data load design i am doing
