trivial little anoying issue i've had for some time

    using sql server mngt studio. I had this issue w/ past versions. Is there a way to force it to default the file save folder location. Everytime i open a new instance of mgmt studio and was to save a query it defaults to the project folder and i then have to navigate to where i save all my sql stuff. I've tried changing the file save as default but it is only for results.

    Any Ideas?

    it's in the registry, and there's one for each version of SSMS, it looks like:

    for 2008, for exmaple it's here:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Shell

    that's where you would change everything to default to a different folder.

    i changed it in the registry and rebooted my box. It was changed back. How to i make it change perminently?
