@@VERSION at odds with SP2 uninstall

    I uninstalled SP2 from 5 clustered instances. The version number in SSMS and @@VERSION still show 10.0.4000 (SP2), whereas I would expect 10.0.2775 (SP1, CU8)

    If, however, I run the discovery report from SQL2008 Setup, it shows version 10.1.2775 across the board.

    There were no errors during the uninstall of SP2. Can anyone shed any light on this discrepancy?

    How does one inform MS Product Support about something like this without starting a support call and incurring costs?
