I would like to know the differences between SQL Server Enterprise edition and Standard edition, mainly regarding building cube reports. Can you use either edition for cubes? I understand the difference in cost.

Hi there,
The main things you don't get in Analysis Services when using SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition are:
- the ability to define OLAP partitions
- support for very large dimensions
- ROLAP storage of large dimensions
- real-time cube updates
- linked cubes
- web accessible cubes out of the box

Some good posts....
One Thing I'd like to add is amount of RAM supported. In high usage systems, RAM can make it or break it and standard support less than Enterprise if memory serves.
OS also plays into that. Differencees between Server and Advanced Server.
